EPL: Solskjaer fires dig at Mourinho’s ‘stupid tactics’

Manchester United caretaker boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has thrown a major dig at Jose Mourinho’s tactics, after his side’s 1-0 win against Tottenham, the UK Metro reports.

The Red Devils made it six wins on the bounce in all competitions under the Norwegian, thanks to Marcus Rashford’s goal at Wembley.

United have also netted 17 goals in six games under Solskjaer.

Mourinho lost support of most of the squad and his side’s negative style of play was summed up in his final game in charge, in a 3-1 defeat against Liverpool.

Asked by former team-mate, Teddy Sheringham, what he needed to change when he was appointed, Solskjaer replied: “The first thing is to smile when you’re at Manchester United because when it’s over you do miss it.

“It’s about attacking, about pace, about power.

“I know we [nodding to Teddy] didn’t have the best of pace but we still attacked.

“That’s what Manchester United are built around – attacking football and going forward. Not stupid square and back passes.”
