EPL: Solskjaer confirms one Man United player to miss Bournemouth clash, gives update on three other

Manchester United caretaker manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that his side will be without defender, Chris Smalling when they tackle Bournemouth in the Premier League fixture at Old Trafford on Sunday evening.

According to Solskjaer, Smalling has a sore foot and will be unavailable until next year.

He also said that the likes of Anthony Martial, Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku could be back for the Red Devils’ clash against Bournemouth.

Martial missed United’s last game on Wednesday against Huddersfield Town because of sickness, while Sanchez has not played for United in over a month due to a hamstring injury and Lukaku has missed both of Solskjaer’s games but is not understood to be injured.

“We’ve not had a lot of training,” Solskjaer was quoted by Manchester Evening News as saying on Friday: “So we had yesterday off, today’s the first day back. Romelu, Anthony and Alexis were light, light yesterday so hopefully they can join part of the training today and let’s see how they come through.

“Marcos and Scott look like they can take part very soon, so the situation is looking better. Smalling’s got a sore foot so I don’t think we’ll see him until the New Year, maybe not even before Spurs, probably, around about that time. But you never know.”
