Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that former boss Sir Alex Ferguson, was one of the first people he spoke to, after being appointed as Manchester United’s full-time manager on Thursday.
The Norwegian enjoyed an incredible reign in caretaker charge at Old Trafford, after replacing Jose Mourinho in December, winning 14 of his 19 matches in charge.
Solskjaer has also qualified the Red Devils for the quarter-final of the Champions League.
Ferguson is believed to have played a key role in the decision to both bring Solskjaer in on a temporary basis from Molde and hand him the job permanently.
Both men also spoke after the official announcement.
“Yeah, I have. I’m not going to discuss what we spoke about, but of course it’s one of the first phone calls you make when things more or less were decided,” Solskjaer told a press conference yesterday.
