Former Manchester United midfielder, Paul Scholes, has said the club should have gone all out for Christian Eriksen.
United appeared as potential suitors for the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder towards the end of the transfer window.
Eriksen had gone public with his desire to leave Tottenham with Real Madrid tipped to make a move, but he will begin the season in north London.
United legend Scholes admits he would have loved the Dane to join his former club.
“I was quite excited when Christian Eriksen got mentioned.
“He could have made a big difference to United in the way De Bruyne plays for City, creating chances and scoring goals.
“But they haven’t got that and they have some good players so the target is top four and I think they will make it,” Scholes said on Premier League Breakfast.
