EPL: Sarri speaks on new Chelsea captain, trophies to win this season

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has revealed he will decide who to make the club’s captain during the international break.

Star forward, Eden Hazard and defender, Cesar Azpilicueta are in line for the position.

Azpilicueta has worn the armband so far this season but has not been officially named club captain.

Gary Cahill, who took over from John Terry, has been omitted from Sarri’s squad for all three of Chelsea’s Premier League matches so far this season.

Sarri said he intends to officially name Chelsea’s new captain during the upcoming two-week international break.

Speaking ahead of Chelsea meeting with Bournemouth, Sarri said “Nothing is decided at the moment, I want to decide during the international break for the final one.”

The Italian manager also said he intends to win Europa League, Premier League, FA Cup and other competitions this season.

The draw for the group stages of the Europa League was completed yesterday, pitting the Blues against Greece’s PAOK, BATE Borisov of Belarus and Hungarian champions Vidi.

Sarri added, “I want to win everything, if I can. I want to win everything.

“For me, it’s a pleasure to play in Europe. It’s a pleasure to play in the Europa League. It’s one of our targets [to win it].”
