Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri has disclosed why forward, Pedro started ahead of youngster, Callum Hudson-Odoi in Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Newcastle United in the Premier League encounter played on Saturday.
Goals from Pedro and Willian gave the Blues all three points against the visitors at Stamford Bridge.
However, a goal from Ciaran Clark was not enough to hand Newcastle a point against Sarri’s side.
Sarri said his decision to start Pedro ahead of Hudson-Odoi was just a tactical one.
When asked why he preferred Pedro to Hudson-Odoi for the game, Sarri was quoted by Metro UK as saying: “Pedro is very important for us, for characteristics.
“He goes into the spaces and so I think that in this moment that Pedro is very important for us.
“We have to solve one problem so we have to try with Pedro.”
