Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri, has disclosed why he dropped forward, Callum Hudson-Odoi, from his side’s Premier League 4-0 defeat by Bournemouth on Wednesday.
Goals from Joshua King (2), David Brooks (1), Charlie Daniels (1) gave Bournemouth all three points against Chelsea.
When asked why Hudson-Odoi did not feature against Bournemouth, Sarri was quoted by Metro UK as saying: “He was with us, he played three days ago.
“There was Willian, so I had only one winger on the bench. We have four wingers, one had to be in the stands.”
Sarri added: “We have to play three matches in six days, we have to change. “Pedro rested last match, today I thought better to change, same with Emerson and Marcos Alonso.
“Emerson at this moment is doing very well, played well in the last two, three matches he was on the pitch, now is the moment to use him in the starting XI.”
