Chelsea boss, Maurizio Sarri has identified two problems with his side after they were held at home by Everton on Sunday. Eden Hazard came back into Chelsea’s lineup for the first time in three weeks after his recovery from a back injury.
Hazard was unable to make the difference and was marked out.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the 0-0 draw, Sarri identified two problems of the Blues.
He listed the problems to include: their approach to recent games and a lack of ruthlessness in front of goal.
“I think we have to sort out the problem of the approach of the match because in the last two or three matches we haven’t been approaching the games right,” Sarri said.
“At the beginning we moved the ball too slowly, so it is easy for the opposition to defend and impossible for us to be dangerous.
“We have to accept the draw, at the end it’s a good point and we are still unbeaten.”
Asked about Chelsea’s wastefulness of late, Sarri said, “I don’t know if Chelsea are ruthless enough in attack. Usually, yes.
“Not in the last three matches because as I said to my players, we created few goal opportunities in relation to how much we played.
“So in this moment maybe it’s a little problem. We have to be careful because in the last three matches you are right.
“I think we played very well for 65 minutes today. Maybe in this period we are not able to create for how much we played.
“For example in the last match in the Europa League we played 81 balls in the BATE box but created only four opportunities, and I think we can do better, but we are playing very well, just not at the beginning.”
