New Chelsea boss, Maurizio Sarri, has identified defence as Chelsea’s weakest point.
The Italian spoke at his official unveiling in front of the media on Wednesday.
Sarri signed a three-year contract on Saturday, replacing compatriot, Antonio Conte, and was presented to the media for the first time on Wednesday.
Sarri said he was missing a touch of quality in the centre-back position of the Blues.
Asked if he could name some of the players he is sending away, Sarri replied, “I cannot name any names because I don’t know who these people are.
“I spoke with the football club and I said that ideally I think pinch of quality is lacking in the centre-halves, for a certain kind of play, otherwise they are at a very high level.
“At the end of the transfer window, it will be up to me to decide what type of game is suitable for the final squad. I cannot claim to come here to Chelsea and change 20 players.
“I must adapt to Chelsea and adapt to the available players and then we will see whether or not I have to change something in my style because the squad is advising me through their characteristics.”
