Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri has provided injury update on forward, Rodríguez Pedro ahead of his side’s Premier League clash with West Ham United on Sunday afternoon.
Pedro sustained a shoulder injury during Chelsea’s 1-0 victory over Greek giants, PAOK Thessaloniki on Thursday evening in the UEFA Europa League.
The Spaniard was involved in an accidental collision with PAOK goalkeeper, Alexandros Paschalakis in the final minutes of the encounter and was helped from the field by Chelsea’s medical staff.
Sarri, however, confirmed that Pedro needed to be further assessed to determine the severity of the injury but said his initial impression was that it would not prove as damaging as first feared.
“I don’t know exactly Pedro’s situation,” Sarri was quoted by First Post as saying at post-match press conference after Chelsea’s win against PAOK.
“I have only talked to the doctor for a few seconds and he said probably it is not a very serious injury.”
