EPL: Sarri blasts Chelsea players after 2-2 draw with Manchester United

Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri, has criticized his players for resorting to long balls against Manchester United, during their 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Sarri, speaking after the game, claimed they went against his instructions and panicked after allowing United back into the game.

He said: “I am really disappointed in this type of performance.

“Getting to two-all in the last minute is OK for the confidence of my players, but I have to look at something else. I have seen the match on the bench, and now want to study the second half of the match.

“They have to play in my character. We are not organised like this to play the long ball. I don’t want the long ball, I don’t want the second ball. I want to play with short passes – stop!”

Antonio Rudiger gave the Blues a first-half lead before Anthony Martial put United ahead with a brace in the second half.

With Jose Mourinho’s men looking to take all three points, Ross Barkley struck the equalizer in the 97th minute of play.
