Manchester United legend, Ryan Giggs, has said that, ‘Forward planning’ was the reasons for the club’s poor outing this season, not the manager, Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho is under pressure at the Old Trafford after playing four games without a win in their last three matches.
Mourinho’s men lost 8-7 against Frank Lampard’s Derby County on penalties in the Carabao Cup, played 1-1 against Wolves in the Premier League, lost 3-1 against West Ham and played a goalless draw against Valencia in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Mourinho faces a crucial clash against Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday with reports suggesting he could lose his job if United lose again.
Giggs, who has been tipped to take over at United after a poor run of results, believes the Red Devils should not sack Mourinho but plan very well.
“I believe Mourinho should keep his job,” Giggs was quoted by The Mirror quoted as saying.
“They are going through a tough time but change and you will be in the same position in a year or two years.
“The problem of late has been forward planning.
“So just take stock, it’s a tough time, but my stance hasn’t changed,” he said.
