EPL: Ryan Giggs attacks one Man United player after 2-0 defeat to Man City

Manchester United legend, Ryan Giggs has criticised the club’s striker, Marcus Rashford, following the Red Devils’ 2-0 defeat to Manchester City on Wednesday.

Goals from Bernardo Silva and Leroy Sane gave Pep Guardiola’s side all three points against Man United at Old Trafford.

Giggs, working as a pundit on Optus Sport, attacked Rashford for his outraces, after the match.

Rashford had disclosed that he thinks the reason why they were defeated 2-0 by Man City was because United players were not good enough.

“I think it’s clear to us, we spoke about it, the last game [against Everton] obviously wasn’t good enough, today again wasn’t good enough,” Rashford told Sky Sports.

Reacting, Giggs said: “Well, he’s [Rashford] a young player, we’ve all done it… an interview after the game, you’re emotional, you’re not happy.

“I don’t know why he’s wearing that cap, but that might be just me – old school, not like the modern footballer now.

“He’s upset, he says he think they’re good enough – they’re not good enough.

“When you see City keeping the ball, they’re not good enough. Midfield giving angles, when you’re a player you need two or three options that short pass, one in behind and you need the safe pass.

“City have always got those options, always. United, because of the first touch, or not good enough, because of the options they have, they just kick it long and it’s not good enough.

“We haven’t got as good players as Liverpool and Manchester City.”
