EPL: Roy Keane blames five Manchester United players for 2-0 defeat to Man City

Former Manchester United captain, Roy Keane has blamed the club’s back-four and midfielder, Fred, following the Red Devils’ 2-0 Premier League derby defeat to Manchester City on Wednesday night.

Goals from Bernardo Silva and Leroy Sane gave Pep Guardiola’s side all three points against Man United at Old Trafford.

Keane, working as a pundit on Sky Sports, blamed the five players for their lacklustre performance against the visitors.

He said: “The back four… I don’t think Shaw is up to it, Young is not a full-back. The two centre-halves, take it from there. As long as you’ve got a decent keeper and back four, it’s tough going.

“The foundation if you’re going to win trophies… Look how many points they are behind, 25 points, It’s mind-boggling.”

Keane added: “Look at Fred for the goal. That’s not giving your all. It’s cheating. What he has done was cheating, letting the guy run off him.”

The defeat to Man City means that Man United are now in the sixth position on the Premier League table with 64 points from 35 games.
