EPL: Roberto Martinez speaks on Hazard leaving Chelsea for Real Madrid

Belgium coach, Roberto Martinez has weighed in on speculations around the future of forward Eden Hazard at Stamford Bridge.

Hazard has been heavily linked with a move to join Champions League holders, Real Madrid over the past two years.

The 27-year-old has planned to force Chelsea to sell him to Real Madrid by refusing to sign a contract extension at Stamford Bridge.

The Belgium international spoke out about his future last weekend, admitting that he was torn between staying at the West London club and joining Madrid.

Martinez believes Hazard will not leave the West London club because the Blues are not ready to sell him as they want to win titles.

“Hazard can be the leader of any club and his level is very difficult to reach for any player in the world,” Martinez told Cadena Ser

“Chelsea want to win titles, not sell players. It’s going to be difficult to see them sell Hazard in the near future.”

Hazard’s contract at Chelsea will expire in 2020, and Chelsea will have to choose whether to sell him or lose him on a free transfer before he enters the final year of his contract at the end of 2019 season.
