EPL: Rio Ferdinand reveals what Man Utd board will do as Mourinho loses to West Ham

Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand, has said the board has some “big decisions” to make, after the Red Devils’ shock defeat by West Ham.

Jose Mourinho’s men were looking to get back to winning ways against the Hammers, after a draw against Wolves and defeat by Derby in the Carabao Cup.

But the Red Devils were behind just minutes into the match at London Stadium after Felipe Anderson found the back of the net.

Shortly before half time, West Ham doubled their lead when an Andriy Yarmolenko shot was deflected in by Victor Lindelof.

United reduced the deficit through Marcus Rashford, but Marko Arnautovic restored the home side’s two-goal advantage.

Speaking on BT Sport after the match Ferdinand slammed his former side’s performance.

“Part of your DNA, is hard work and effort.

“Today I didn’t see that. Chelsea came here last week and had 70 per cent possession. They didn’t work hard.

“There’s some big decisions to be made at Manchester United. I’m sure there’s going to be conversations at that level [board].

“The manager, the squad, how they’re going to take this club forward. The basics aren’t being done,” he said.
