Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand has identified what caused Arsenal’s 3-2 loss to Chelsea in Saturday’s Premier League clash.
Goals from Pedro, Morata and Alonso ensured victory for the Blues against the Gunners at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening as Mkhitaryan and Iwobi scored for the visitors.
Ferdinand believes Unai Emery’s men were defeated by the Blues because the Gunners’ back-four defense line lacked the ability to identify runners from the opposition midfield.
The back-four Arsenal’s players that featured against Maurizio Sarri’s side were; Monreal, Papastathopoulos, Mustafi and Bellerin
“The back-four do not identify runners from midfield and don’t shape up to be able to defend that,” Ferdinand told BT Sport.
“They’ve got no idea of where people are on the pitch. There’s disarray in the Arsenal backline, not only there but in the midfield as well.”
Emery’s side will face West Ham United next weekend in their next EPL fixture.
