Former Manchester United scout, Javier Ribalta has revealed that he wanted Jose Mourinho to sign Emre Can who was on a free transfer from Liverpool.
Ribalta was appointed as United’s head of scouting last summer but he only spent a year at the Old Trafford and later joined Zenit in July.
Meanwhile, Can moved to Juventus on a free transfer this summer transfer window after his contract with Liverpool expired.
Ribalta also wanted Mourinho to sign the midfielder alongside his fellow Germany international Leon Goretzka.
Goretzka, who played for Schalke was also available on a free transfer this summer but he decided to sign for Bayern Munich.
“For my time in Manchester, I was only there for a year but I’d have liked to sign Emre Can and Leon Goretzka on free transfers,” Ribalta told Tuttosport.
