EPL: Pogba under fire after Man United’s 2-0 defeat to Cardiff City

Premier League legend, Alan Shearer has criticised Manchester United midfielder, Paul Pogba for his lacklustre display in the Red Devils’ 2-0 defeat to Cardiff City in the Premier League on Sunday.

A brace from Nathaniel Mendez-Laing ensured the visitors defeated Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men at Old Trafford.

Shearer said Pogba was at fault for the 54th-minute goal scored by Mendez-Laing against United, adding that the France international didn’t mark out his man, Josh Murphy from a throw-in.

“This is the problem at Old Trafford. This epitomises everything that’s wrong with this football club and this football team,” Shearer told Match of the Day.

“Murphy and Pogba are together but have a look at them in a couple of seconds. (Cardiff have a) throw-in – that is not difficult, that is not hard, that is pretty simple to stay with your man and he just runs off Pogba with ease and he knocks it across with a simple tap in.

“That tells you everything that’s wrong with this football club at this moment in time. So, so easy. It’s going to be very difficult to change it.

“After the season he’s had, just get in. He can’t really argue, he’s got no point,” Shearer added.
