Liverpool legend, Graeme Souness, has blamed Manchester United midfielders, Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic and Fred following the Red Devils’ 2-0 defeat to Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday.
Goals from Granit Xhaka and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang gave Unai Emery’s men all three points against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.
Souness blamed Pogba, Matic and Fred for their lackluster performances against the Gunners.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Souness said: “United huffed and puffed for a lot of that game. It wasn’t the United we have seen in recent weeks.
“I think the largest reason, the biggest reason why they didn’t start well was their midfield.
“I think their midfield were way off the pace: [Nemanja] Matic, Fred, and Pogba. You would have enjoyed playing against their midfield today because they didn’t get near anyone.”
