Top Arsenal supporter, Piers Morgan has told new boss, Unai Emery two players of the club to dismiss as he takes over at the Emirate Stadium.

Morgan advised Emery to sell Shkodran Mustafi and Granit Xhaka this summer.

Emery was appointed as Arsenal’s new head coach on Wednesday morning after signing a three-year deal.

The former Sevilla manager reportedly only has a transfer budget of £50million to spend on new signings in the transfer window, so may have to sell players to boost his kitty.

Morgan also offered to find a buyer for Mustafi and Xhaka if Emery can’t.

“I’m happy with it, he’s a proper manager,” Morgan told Sky Sports News.

“Great record, three European trophies in the last five years. He’s just won the treble at PSG

“Okay, he failed their criteria of not winning the Champions League, but for what Arsenal need right now, this is great.

“Arsenal fans should get right behind this guy, he’s a winner. He’s intense, he’s driven, he’ll get into that dressing room, he’ll sort them out.

“Hopefully ship out the deadwood, and if he can’t find a buyer for Xhaka and Mustafi, I’ll find one for him.”

Former Arsenal captain Mikel Arteta, who is yet to manage a club, was the favourite for the job until Monday.

But Morgan does not think the Manchester City coach would have been the right appointment.

“Arteta would have been a complete disaster,” he added.

“Arteta hasn’t managed a paper bag. He might turn out to be a great coach, let’s wait and see.

“It’s (Pep) Guardiola doing the business over there at City, not Arteta.

“So I’m thrilled with got a guy who’s a winner and he’s over performed with teams. That’s what we need.

“We’ve been underperforming for a long time, so my message to Arsenal fans is get behind this guy, this is what we’ve been needing for years.”
