Former Manchester United star, Gary Neville has advised goalkeeper David De Gea to get away from football in the summer and reset after he committed another blunder in Man United’s 1-1 draw against Chelsea on Sunday in the Premier League.
Goals from Juan Mata and Marcos Alonso ensured both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men and Maurizio Sarri’s side got a point each at Old Trafford.
De Gea fumbled a shot from Chelsea defender, Antonio Rudiger, which allowed left-back, Marcos Alonso, to equalise for the Blues before half time.
The 28-year-old also committed a mistake against Manchester City forward, Leroy Sane, in their last Premier League 2-0 defeat to Pep Guardiola’s side.
When asked about De Gea’s mistake in Man United’s draw against Chelsea, Neville said on Sky Sports: “He [De Gea] needs to get away from football in the summer and reset.
“De Gea has built up so much credit but he is having a really torrid time. He is having a nightmare of a time.
“Credit to Alonso for following it in, (Ashley) Young, (Ander) Herrera, (Eric) Bailly, they don’t.”
