Manchester United midfielder, Nemanja Matic has spoken on his new role at the club.
Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had demanded that the former Chelsea star will play a crucial role in the Old Trafford dressing room next season, following the departure of Ander Herrera.
DAILY POST recalls that Herrera joined Paris Saint-Germain on a five-year deal from Man United earlier this month, leaving Matic as one of the few senior players in Solskjaer’s squad.
Speaking on his new role, Matic was quoted by Manchester Evening News as saying on Friday ahead of Man United’s clash against Inter Milan on Saturday: “Yeah my position is very important to talk to the teammates especially me as one of the more experienced players and I’m trying to do that exactly.
“I think this pre-season we are training very well, everyone of us is trying to give something extra and me also so I’m sure this season we will play much better, if that is going to be enough to win some trophies I don’t know, it’s difficult to say now, but I’m quite sure we’ll play much better.”
