Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho has told Ed Woodward to sell forward Anthony Martial before the European transfer window closes.
Martial has been strongly linked with a move out of Old Trafford earlier in the summer after leaving United’s pre-season tour of America early.
While the 22-year-old returned home for the birth of his second child, the Portuguese manager was unhappy that the Frenchman did not return to the camp sooner.
The player was fined two weeks’ wages.
Daily Mail, UK, reports that the former FC Porto and Inter Milan boss wants the players out of the club as soon as possible.
However, Woodward still rates Martial highly and is unwilling to sell a player the club have invested so much in.
The situation has now created further friction between Mourinho and Woodward.
The former Chelsea boss is already unhappy at missing out on a host of transfer targets over the summer.
