Manchester United boss, Jose Mourinho has singled out Alexis Sanchez, Paul Pogba and Juan Mata as the root of the club’s problems.
The Times, UK, reports that Mourinho slammed the players in a meeting before the club’s 3-1 defeat to West Ham on Saturday.
Mourinho had earlier stripped Pogba of the vice-captaincy following his criticism of the team’s tactics against Wolves
The Times reports that Mourinho gathered the squad in midweek for a team meeting before their trip to east London and ripped into Sanchez for his poor performances this term.
The Portuguese subsequently dropped Sanchez from matchday squad against the Hammers.
But Mourinho didn’t stop there, as he unleashed tirades at Pogba, and perhaps more surprisingly, Mata.
Pogba was removed after 68 minutes at the London Stadium.
Mata was a sub and came on with twenty minutes remaining but could do little to reverse the club’s fortune.
Mata released a short blog post but said he would not be writing much as he felt now was not the time to speak.
“Today, my blog post is shorter than usual. In fact, it isn’t really a time for posts,” said Mata.
“I want to thank all of you who support us during these tough times. I understand your frustrations.”
