Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho has revealed the role new signing, Frederico Fred will play this coming season.
Fred joined United from Shakhtar Donetsk earlier this summer.
The Brazilian international is expected to make his debut for the Red Devils in their pre-season friendly against Liverpool on Saturday night.
Mourinho, however, believes the 25-year-old is a technical player that can play as a link between the midfield and attack for United.
“Fred is a technical player. Having people in the squad like (Nemanja) Matic, (Marouane) Fellaini, [Paul] Pogba, even Ander (Herrera),” Mourinho told reporters ahead of Liverpool clash.
“They are physical people, strong – we think a player like Fred, Andreas Pereira – more technical, more quality of passing, playing in short spaces – will maybe connect with the attacking players”.
Mourinho’s men will face Club America and San Jose Earthquakes in their last two pre-season matches.
