Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho has said that striker, Romelu Lukaku will be available for United’s Premier League clash against bitter rivals, Manchester City, after the striker returned to training.
Lukaku suffered a hamstring injury last week and missed United’s wins over Bournemouth and Juventus, but there is a chance the forward could feature at the Etihad this weekend.
Mourinho is desperate for the Belgian international to be fit to add the power he feels United need up front against Pep Guardiola’s men.
United boss confirmed that he has no new injury concerns following Wednesday’s victory over Juve in the Champions League, but the Portuguese is still waiting on Lukaku’s fitness.
“No new injuries. So from Juventus we don’t bring important injuries,” he told MUTV.
“We have touches but I don’t think any player that was available for Juventus will be out.
“We have a chance, It is Friday morning now, Lukaku could be back.”
Speaking further, Mourinho said, “He [Lukaku] was training with the team this morning. If the answer is positive…
“We have one more session tomorrow. If the answer is positive then he is ready but at the moment he only trains with the team.”
