Chelsea striker, Alvaro Morata has apologised for his furious reaction to being substituted against Burnley on Thursday night.

The Spaniard, however, disclosed that he was just angry at himself.

Morata was pulled off midway through the second half of Chelsea’s 2-1 win at Turf Moor.

The former Real Madrid striker missed a gilt-edged chance to put his side 2-0 up after the interval when he raced through but put his effort wide off Nick Pope’s goal.

Manager, Antonio Conte decided to take him off for Eden Hazard and the Spanish international was seen gesticulating on the bench and had to be calmed down by Cesc Fabregas.

However, the former Juventus man said he was angry at himself, not Conte, and apologised for his temper.

He wrote on Instagram, “Three important points for us.

“The best way to get ready for Sunday’s game was winning today.

“I want to apologize for my reaction when I was sent to the bench, when I fail I get really angry with myself!.”
