EPL: Mkhitaryan makes debut as Swansea thrash Arsenal 3-1

Arsenal suffered a heavy defeat at Swansea City in the Premier League on Tuesday as Henrikh Mkhitaryan made his debut for the club.

Mkhitaryan, who came off the bench, made his debut for Arsenal after completing a move to the north London in a swap deal which saw Alexis Sanchez head in the opposite direction to Manchester United last week.

Swansea fought back from a goal down to beat Arsene Wenger’s side at the Liberty Stadium leaving eight points off fourth spot in the league table.

The Gunners took the lead when Nacho Monreal converted an fabulous pass from Mesut Ozil but the Swans were level less than two minutes later after terrible defending from Granit Xhaka.

A mix-up between defender Shkodran Mustafi and goalkeeper Petr Cech allowed Jordan Ayew in to put the Swans ahead.

Clucas capitalised on more poor defending to make it 3-1.

The defeat leaves the North London side eight points behind Liverpool in fourth spot after the Reds beat Huddersfield 3-0 at the Kirklees Stadium.
