Former Liverpool and Real Madrid star, Michael Owen has predicted the outcome of the Premier League clash between Chelsea and Leicester City.
Chelsea head to the game following their 5-4 penalty defeat to Liverpool in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday in Turkey, while Leicester City played a goalless draw against Wolves in the Premier League last weekend.
Making his predictions ahead of the game, Owen believes Chelsea will beat Leicester and get their first competitive match victory under Manager Frank Lampard when they host Brendan Rodger’s men at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
“It is fair to say that Chelsea were not flattered by their 4-0 defeat at Old Trafford on Sunday and they could, and probably should, have taken a lead into the break against United,” he told BetVictor
“Leicester had their only shot on target in the 83rd minute of their goalless draw with Wolves on Sunday and Brendan Rodgers will be looking for more from his attacking players although delighted with his side’s clean sheet in their first game since Harry Maguire’s transfer.
“Frank Lampard will be looking for a winning start to his home managerial career and I feel his side will take all three points in an entertaining contest.”
The kick-off time for the match is 4:30 pm.
