EPL: Manchester United star in showdown talks with Mourinho over future

Manchester United defender, Eric Bailly, is unsure about his long-term future at the club, the Metro UK reports.

The Ivorian has been left disappointed by manager Jose Mourinho’s recent treatment of him.

Bailly played preseason through the pain barrier and started the season as first choice alongside Victor Lindelof for the 2-1 win against Leicester City, but was dropped following a dismal performance against Brighton the following week.

While Bailly accepts his display was not good enough, the defender has felt marganilsed by Mourinho ever since and believes he’s had to shoulder the blame for United’s poor start to the season.

He was not included in the matchday squad for the 3-0 defeat to Tottenham the following week but Lindelof was handed a reprieve and replaced Phil Jones shortly before the hour mark.

The Swede was then a starter against Burnley, while Bailly was handed a cameo in stoppage time against the Clarets.

Bailly is happy at Old Traford and has settled in Manchester since his £30million move from Villarreal in 2016, but now wants talks with Mourinho over his future.
