Former France midfielder, Claude Makelele, has said Jose Mourinho is “tired” of developing new players at Manchester United.
Makelele was at the bedrock Mourinho’s Chelsea side, that enjoyed so much success during the Portuguese’s first spell in charge at Stamford Bridge.
And while the Frenchman feels Mourinho remains “one of the best” managers in the game, he suspects the appetite to develop and bring through new players at Old Trafford on the wane.
Speaking to the UK Sun, Makelele said: “At Chelsea he had players like me, John Terry, Frank Lampard. Now it is different. This generation is not the same.
“It has made him tired. He has gone through generation after generation after generation of players.
“Each one is different and maybe he misses the earlier generation. But he still works hard.”
