EPL: Lukaku reveals Mourinho’s transfer plans for next season

Manchester United striker, Romelu Lukaku has revealed that Jose Mourinho plans to make some major signings in the summer transfer window.

Mourinho made Lukaku the second most expensive player in the club’s history when he paid Everton £75million for him.

Lukaku has scored 25 goals in all competitions this season, including the opener in Saturday’s FA Cup quarter final win over Brighton.

Despite his efforts, Mourinho’s side are lagging behind rivals, Manchester City, in the Premier League and were humiliated in Europe by Sevilla in midweek.

Mourinho has spent over £300million since taking over at the club but Lukaku is expecting more major investments over the course of the close season.

Lukaku said, “We are Manchester United, we have to improve every year and I know that a lot of players, a lot of good players, will come in next summer. That’s for sure.

“That is something I look forward to, in order to improve the squad, and what the manager also looks forward to because next year we have to win.

“We will have to try and win as many trophies as we can.”

On his position as the first choice striker at the club, he said, “It is best for me because I’m powerful, really fast and so it’s something that can help the team.

“If we keep on going like that we are going to have more opportunities, I will get myself more opportunities.”
