Jordan Henderson’s sublime effort from long range, proved to be the winner, as Liverpool beat Chelsea 2-1 at Stamford Bridge on Friday night.
It was Antonio Conte’s first defeat in charge of the Blues, as Liverpool continued their fine form in the capital.
Dejan Lovren opened the scoring, finishing past Thibaut Courtois at the far post, after Phillipe Coutinho found him in acres of space. Henderson made it 2-0 with a deliciously dipping effort before the break.
Chelsea rallied back in the second half, as they sought to preserve their unbeaten run, but only managed one goal through Diego Costa.
The win is Jurgen Klopp’s second straight victory at Stamford Bridge, after he saw off a Jose Mourinho team 3-1 last season. His team is now level with Chelsea on 10 points after five matches.
