EPL: Lacazette speaks on leaving Arsenal

Arsenal striker, Alexandre Lacazette, has broken his silence on speculation that he is still looking to leave the club, after shock rumours of a summer exit emerged just last week.

The France international was one of Arsene Wenger’s final signings as Gunners boss, before he stepped down at the end of the season after 22 years in charge.

Lacazette performed brilliantly during the Gunners’ pre-season tour of Asia under new man, Unai Emery.

But as the Premier League season got underway for another year, Lacazette found himself sitting on the bench and rumours emerged he could leave the Gunners for a new club on the continent.

On the weekend Emery started Lacazette for the first time against Cardiff City and the forward was on the scoresheet as the Gunners ran out 3-2 winners.

Speaking out on the persistent rumours he could leave, the Frenchman has now set the story straight.

“I don’t know who said this stuff, but I am at one of the best clubs in London and I am happy at Arsenal,” Lacazette said, as reported by Sport360.

“It’s always going to be hard to be in the first XI at a club like this, but I always keep fighting and working. I won’t play every week just because of one game.

“Every day I have to work and show the coach I work well and I deserve my place.”
