EPL: Lacazette speaks on goals competition with Aubameyang, three things that’ll make him happy

Arsenal striker, Alexandre Lacazette says he will be delighted if fellow teammate, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scores 40 goals for the Gunners this season.

He listed two other things to make him happy as: Unai Emery’s side qualifying for next season’s Champions League and also win trophy at the end of this campaign.

The 27-year-old clarified that there is no goals competition between him and Aubameyang.

Lacazette stated this ahead of his side’s Premier League clash against Leicester City on Monday night at Emirates Stadium.

“Really, for me no,” Lacazette told Sky Sports when asked if there is a competition between him and Aubameyang in Emery’s squad.

“If Auba score 40 goals and we go to the Champions League and we win something, too, I will be happy because this season. We just want to win something.

“There is no competition like who scores more goals on the weekend. Maybe in training because it is better to improve, but not at the weekend.”

He added: “We just have fun, we laugh, but we work as well.

“People can see that we smile together, we are a good partnership. But when we have to work, we work. We know when we can work and when we can laugh, and we just enjoy laughing and football together.

“I’ve known him since we were in France and he knows me too. I know how he plays so our relationship is natural.”
