Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp has dismissed the idea that Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho lacks ambition ahead of both teams’ clash on Sunday evening in the Premier League fixture at Anfield.
Klopp’s men are currently on top of the English topflight league table with 42 points from 16 games, while Mourinho’s side are sixth place with 26 points from the same number of games.
However, after the last two encounters between Liverpool and Man United at Anfield ended in goalless draws, Mourinho received heavy criticism for his negative team setup.
But Klopp has now defended his counterpart, saying that the Portuguses gaffer still remains one of the world’s best managers.
“I don’t think Jose Mourinho ever has a lack of ambition,” ESPN quoted Klopp as saying at a pre-match press conference.
“He just does what he thinks is right, and he’s one of the most successful managers in the world.
“Last season’s game was not a joy for us.”
The kick-off time for the match is 5pm.
