Liverpool legend, Ian Rush, has predicted that the Reds can challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title this season, only if they show consistency.
Liverpool finished fourth in the Premier League table last season with a staggering 30 points adrift of champions, Man City.
The Merseyside outfit have been very active in the summer transfer window as manager, Jurgen Klopp worked on improving his squad.
The Anfield club brought in Fabinho, Naby Keita, Xherdan Shaqiri and Alisson Becker during the summer transfer window.
Rush, however, tipped Liverpool to challenge City for the 2018-19 Premier League title.
“The signings that they’ve made…” Rush told the Second Captain podcast.
“Liverpool beat Man City three times last year. They finished 25 points behind them which is a hell of a lot. Liverpool on their day can beat anyone.
“If they can get that consistency, they will run them close.”
Liverpool will kick off their League campaign against West Ham on Sunday, While City would battle Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
