Manchester United boss, Jose Mourinho, has admitted he had selection difficulties in the opening two weeks of the new season.

The Red Devils disappointed Swansea City with a 4-0 win on the English Premier League (EPL) match day two.

Despite the wins against West Ham United and Swansea, Mourinho insists his team can do much better.

An excited Mourinho told journalists during the post-match briefing: “It was difficult to leave out (Anthony) Martial and others and I think the players understood that, I had a conversation with them.

“We have great players on the bench that have the ambition to start, I left some at home that don’t deserve to stay at home. We are resting people for rotation, so we keep the team.

“Of course we can improve but every match is a different match and you are never in control of matches for 90 minutes so I can expect if we are a team playing with tactical discipline there will be moments for sure in this match where we don’t have that control but we need to keep our stability.

“We are playing happy football because the team is very comfortable on the pitch.

“I think a little bit more freedom instead of being too much connected with the tactical discipline we need, we also need this happiness, this freedom to play, these open link passing lines and try to influencing the game, players without fear to move, without fear to go into areas that are not in the tactical design.”

Mourinho also assured French international Anthony Martial of a place in his team by revealing that he is not looking to replace the forward.

Martial was among the goal scorers on Saturday as United won their second Premier League game.

“I have faith in Anthony,” Mourinho said.
