Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, gave his squad a dressing down before their game with Southampton on Saturday.
Mourinho has been upset with falling standards, particularly, after their limp performance against Crystal Palace last weekend and the narrow victory over Young Boys in midweek.
The Daily Mail reports that the former Chelsea boss let his squad know, that he was not happy during a briefing at their Hilton Ageas Bowl Hotel base on Saturday morning.
Some team insiders described it as “a right rollicking”.
Mourinho had set his side a target of making the top four and the Champions League knockout stages by January, but his players have laboured with the challenge.
Many have been upset by the way the manager continues to criticise them in public and Mourinho is struggling to keep harmony in the group.
United eventually drew 2-2 with the Saints, after going two goals down in the first half.
