Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, has revealed that he reached out to Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger over Alex Iwobi’s disciplinary issues earlier this month.

Iwobi attended a party less than 48 hours before Arsenal’s humiliating 4-2 loss to Championship side, Nottingham Forest in the Emirates FA Cup, where he was a shadow of himself.

After vowing to punish the Nigerian international,Wenger fielded him in the next games against Chelsea and Bournemouth.

Speaking on how he handled the matter, Gernot Rohr told ESPN, ”I spoke to Arsene about it and I like the way he handled it. He did it like a father, inside the house and after, he played him in the next game.

”He is a young boy, and young boys make mistakes sometimes.

”I speak to all of them and we have a good relationship because we want to see the players play at a high level and train at a high level to stay fit.”
