Chelsea captain, Cesar Azpilicueta, has revealed Frank Lampard predicted his side would be left disappointed, if they did not score a second goal against Leicester City.
The Blues led at the break thanks to Mason Mount’s goal, but saw the visitors dominate in the second half.
Leicester eventually levelled through Wilfred Ndidi.
Azpilicueta has now admitted Lampard warned his players about the necessity of a second goal at half-time.
“He said that in the first 20, 25 minutes we were much better than them.
“[He said] we controlled the game, we had a lot of chances and we had to score a second goal.
“We know with their team they could create a lot of chances, at the end we didn’t manage to find a way to score a second goal,” the defender told reporters after the game.
