Former Borussia Dortmund boss, Peter Stoger, has revealed how Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang forced through a move to Arsenal in January.
In an interview with Bild, Stoger claimed that Aubameyang refused to run during training sessions.
The Gabonese forward joined the Gunners in a £56m deal to become Arsene Wenger’s final signing for the club and has scored an impressive 19 goals in 26 appearances across last season and the current campaign under new boss Unai Emery.
But Stoger says Aubameyang’s final days at Dortmund were far from professional.
“He left me no other choice. He trained well four days of the week. But to underline his wish for a transfer, he skipped team meetings before games or refused to run during the final training.
“We did our best to keep him for at least another half a year, but Auba wasn’t ready for that,” he said.
