EPL: Hazard has ‘outgrown’ Chelsea – Jermaine Jenas

Former Tottenham Hotspur star, Jermaine Jenas has said that Chelsea forward, Eden Hazard, has “outgrown” the West London club.

Jenas stated this while reacting to Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat by Tottenham in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg encounter on Tuesday night.

A goal from Harry Kane gave Spurs all three points against Maurizio Sarri’s men at Wembley.

Jenas believes Hazard is just too good for Chelsea, adding that the Belgium international has gone past everybody at Stamford Bridge.

“Eden Hazard is too good for Chelsea,” Jenas told the BBC.

“He has gone by everybody and he must be thinking, ‘what more do you need me to do?’”

“They [Chelsea] were better on the ball and they flooded the ball but they didn’t have a clinical edge.

“I thought Eden Hazard was unplayable.

“Chelsea are a top side but I think Hazard has outgrown them and he is above a level of everybody around him.”

Hazard, who has 18 months on his current deal with Chelsea, has refused to sign a new contract extension with the Blues.

The 28-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid at the end of the season.
