EPL: Harry Redknapp predicts where Man United, Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool will finish next season

A former Tottenham manager, Harry Redknapp, has predicted that Manchester City will be involved in a three-horse race for the Premier League title next season.

He also said that Manchester United will face another battle with Arsenal and Chelsea for a top four spot.

Redknapp added that his former club Tottenham will offer a more sustained title challenge to Man City and Liverpool, but Man United may struggle to break back into the top four.

Pep Guardiola’s City won the EPL title for the second season in a row, beating a brilliant challenge from Liverpool.

Ole Gunner Solskjaer’s Man United, finished sixth after an inconsistent year.

Redknapp, who spoke to MEN Sport, said he can see a similar battle next season.

“I see the top three as absolute certainties,” he said.

“I see Man City, Liverpool, Tottenham. And then it’ll be a scrap between the other three again.

“Arsenal are well short still defensively and in midfield. Up front they’re good. I like the front two, they’re fantastic. They’re short in midfield now [Aaron] Ramsey’s gone.

“Arsenal are nowhere near. I think Chelsea will have big problems if they lose [Eden] Hazard. We’ve said about Man United.

“If someone said you could have a bet next year, you’d have your life on Man City and Liverpool scrapping for the title. I think Tottenham will be a lot closer next year.”

On United’s chances, Redknapp said, “They’re miles behind Man City. Miles and miles behind them, Liverpool and Tottenham. He’s (Solskjaer) got a big job on his hands. It’s all about recruitment now. It’s about the players they bring in.

“The top six teams have got the best players. That’s why every year, apart from the year we had Leicester, it’s the same six teams. It’ll be the same six next year again. That’s the way it is, they’ve got the best players.”
