EPL: Guardiola warns Liverpool

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has issued out warning to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool over this season’s Premier League title.

Guardiola warned Liverpool that City can still retain the Premier League title this campaign, adding that his players were “absolute heroes”.

Guardiola’s side won the English topflight league title last season with a record 100 points from 38 games.

Liverpool are currently on top of the Premier League table this term with 54 points from 20 games after defeating Arsenal on Saturday, while Man City are third place with 44 points from 19 games.

Speaking on the Premier League title, Guardiola was quoted by Metro UK as saying: “We have the belief, whether the situation is win or lose.

“The belief is more what we are. Of course we know we have to come back to win games if we want to fight for the trophies. But the belief is always there.

“Why should I not believe in my players after what they’ve done in the last 15, 16 months? They are absolute heroes for me.

“Always I am close to them, and I will be for the rest of our period together. Nothing is going to change.”

Guardiola’s side will tackle Southampton in their next Premier League fixture on Sunday.
