Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has told his players that they needs to improve on a lot of things this season if they want to compete for this season’s Premier League title.
Guardiola’s men, who won last season’s Premier League title with a record 100 points from 38 matches, stated this after his side defeated Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 in the Premier League fixture played on Monday night at Wembley.
Winger, Riyad Mahrez’s early goal in the first half of the encounter, ensured victory for City.
“We have a lot of things to improve if we are to be a real contender,” Independent UK quoted Guardiola as saying at post-match.
“We are a very good side. I am not saying the opposite, but when you are going to play at important stages in the last third of the Premier League and especially in Europe, we demand another issue or points that we don’t have.
“That is why hopefully we can talk about that and train for that and hopefully in the future we can improve that.”
