EPL: Guardiola speaks on another midfielder leaving Manchester City

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has ruled out the possibility of midfielder, Phil Foden leaving the club this January transfer window.

Foden, who is yet to start a game for City in the Premier League so far this campaign, has made eight appearances off the bench.

The 18-year-old has been urged to leave the Premier League champions on loan but Guardiola is saying the youngster will not be allowed to leave City on loan this month, stressing that it is “impossible”.

Asked if Foden could leave Etihad on loan this January, Goal quoted Guardiola as saying: “No way. No, impossible.

“He is going to stay with us many, many years.

“Today Phil Foden was there and his movement was incredible. 90 minutes for his experience and self-confidence, but of course he must improve. He will learn in future and play better.”

Guardiola’s men will tackle Burton on Wednesday night in the Carabao Cup fixture at the Etihad Stadium.
