EPL: Guardiola reveals why he shouted at Sterling during Man City’s 3-1 win over Man United

Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola, has revealed why he shouted at his forward, Raheem Sterling after their 3-1 win over Manchester United. David Silva scored the first goal 12 minutes into the game and Sergio Aguero added another at the start of the second half.

Anthony Martial, however, pulled one back from the spot kick after Romelu Lukaku was clipped by Ederson.

After a silky move, Ilkay Gundogan produced a wonderful first touch and a second of supreme composure to seal Manchester City the win

Sterling produced a few overzealous step overs, drawing some lunging tackles from the United players.

Guardiola took exception to his winger’s fancy antics and stormed over to Sterling at the full-time whistle.

The rant was caught by the TV cameras, as Guardiola can be seen passionately pointing and grabbing his player by the neck.

Sterling reacted slightly, pushing his boss away and questioning his vitriol.

Guardiola explained his actions in the post-match press conference, saying, “He made some movements with his legs that we could avoid.

“He’s young and will learn.”
