Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has banned his players from taking alcohol during the Premier League title run-in.
Guardiola, speaking to reporters after City qualified for the FA Cup final, revealed there was “not one drop” of celebration for his players.
With the Carabao Cup winners’ Champions League quarter-final at Spurs tomorrow, Guardiola wants his title chasers to stay booze-free.
He said: “It’s really good but we don’t have too much time to tell ourselves ‘Oh, it’s so good. How nice is everything’.
“The only focus right now is: Don’t drink one drop of beer or alcohol. Rest, eat good, regeneration the day after tomorrow and prepare the game against one of the best teams in all terms in the Premier League and Europe when they had six days to prepare and we had two-and-a-half.
“Yeah, we won 22 of the last 23 so it’s not bad. Of course, if we want to be in contention in all competitions you have to make this kind of numbers. It’s the same with Liverpool in the Premier League.”
